You left out the part that people had already bought tickets, attending a show which was promoted as a musical event, featuring Ed Sheeran.

First amendment issue? No. Misrepresentation? Yes. Macklemore should get his ass sued off for misrepresenting the purpose of his appearance, In this age in which hurt feelings are actionable, I'd say a class action suit against Macklemore should bleed him of five or ten million.

You do realize, don't you, that your response has nothing to do with what I said. Or what Fire said, for that matter.

But that's OK. You do you. I support your free speech rights. Just don't expect me to pay to hear them.

You are a sad little person. You make the assumption that I am right wing. You ask a question that you tell me not to answer.

I still support your right to prove to the world that you are a nimwit.

It’s the only way he knows how to argue. That and lying.

One can find hypocrisy all day if they get to strawman their opponents.

Speaking of sporting events...

Flag on the play....there are multiple fouls....personal foul...tu quoque fallacy...too many strawmen on the field...point no good.

I generally like and support FIRE but why does GL say that Ed S has right of free association but not RC ???

And it's not a 'policy' difference that RC is refusing to associate with. It is a person using RC's facility to promote murdering people like RC

Seems reasonable to say 'go do that elsewhere

I said the First Amendment right is with Bob Kraft, but that it's not great when venues get together to exclude artists on the basics of political point of view. From a pre-speech culture standpoint, but perhaps most importantly, that such attempts tend to badly backfire, as this clearly has. It's elevated Macklemore, and his message caused Ed Sheeran to politicize himself, and otherwise created a Streisand effect.

And it gets more complicated when a team owner co-owns a venue with a local government.

Actually IMO it's much clearer--1A applies due to the government nexus.

Having the right to do something doesn't necessarily mean it's the right thing to do.

“ICE knowingly pursued an American citizen for criticizing his government — speech that is at the heart of the First Amendment,” said FIRE Senior Attorney Adam Steinbaugh.

Bull Shit!!!
